Job summary

Baseline Energy Services seeks an experienced Shop Technician to repair and maintain power generation equipment in our Roosevelt, UT shop. You will maximize uptime by performing scheduled maintenance and addressing electrical and mechanical issues on natural gas generators.

The role requires troubleshooting expertise, attention to detail, and a safety-first mindset. Nights and weekends may be required, with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for technical training.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Must be able to pass a background and drug screen.
• General knowledge of job safety and production flow in a shop environment.
• Experienced background or trade school preferred.
• Electrical/generator troubleshooting & repair.
• Engine overhaul is a plus.
• Systematic troubleshooting/problem solving skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must have own hand tools (company provides specialty tools).
• Availability to work nights and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Repair, troubleshoot, maintain, and be responsible for run time, mechanical, and electrical systems of natural gas generators.
• Preventative maintenance on generators (5.7L to 21.9L in engine size). Basic maintenance items include: Monthly oil change, spark plug change, oil and air filters; Overhead valve adjustments; Checking batteries; Washing of radiators; Load bank testing.
• Repair and maintenance of the following engine and electrical system components: Natural Gas Engine fuel systems; Cooling systems; Air injection systems (turbos, manifolds, etc.); Generator control panel troubleshooting; Generator ends: diagnose 480V electrical output, check diodes, replace/tune automatic voltage regulators.
• Maintain fit-for-duty status for each shift.
• Maintain a Safety-first culture that always ensures the protection and safety of Baseline employees and customers.
• Conduct work in accordance with company, customer, and industry safety standards to maintain an accident-free workplace.
• Communicate professionally, efficiently, and frequently with customers when issues arise.
