Job summary

Fluidstack in Austin, TX is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to own rotating equipment packages for behind-the-meter generation, including gas turbines, recip engines, and large pumps and compressors. You will specify equipment, evaluate vendors, and ensure performance meets design curves.

You will read vibration data, witness factory acceptance tests, and root-cause failures in the field. Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to deliver reliable, high-uptime plant performance.

Qualifications

• Engineered rotating equipment: gas turbines, recip engines, or large pumps and compressors.
• Owned equipment specifications and vendor evaluations.
• Witnessed factory acceptance tests and rejected non-conforming equipment.
• Read vibration data and used it to assess condition.
• Root-caused rotating equipment failures in the field.

Responsibilities

• Own rotating equipment for behind-the-meter generation: turbines, engines, and generators.
• Engineer the mechanical packages: skids, auxiliaries, vibration, and alignment.
• Run factory and site acceptance: witness tests and hold vendors to curves.
• Support the fleet: address reliability issues on rotating equipment.
