Job summary

Entergy in New Orleans seeks an experienced engineer to provide engineering support and oversight for a Power Generation Plant. You will lead with safety, enforce codes, and manage causal analyses of plant events.

Responsibilities include regulatory compliance, performance trending, project oversight for capital and O&M, and coordination with contractors and OEMs to deliver reliable plant operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Preferred: B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum experience levels: Engineer III 4–5 years; Senior Engineer 6–7 years; Senior Lead Engineer 8+ years.
• Strong communication, teamwork and stakeholder management.
• Proficiency with PC applications, engineering tools and analytical systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead with safety and compliance; enforce regulatory requirements, industry codes/standards, and Entergy engineering guidelines.
• Lead and assist in causal analysis of plant component failures and operational events.
• Serve as plant NERC Champion to ensure compliance with NERC/CIP standards.
• Trend system performance, identify deficiencies, drive corrective actions, and perform root-cause analyses.
• Provide engineering support for plant modifications and project oversight of small to large capital projects.
• Coordinate and execute betterment capital and O&M projects with stakeholders.
• Ensure plant modification process is followed on projects and evaluate deliverables.
• Interface with equipment OEMs and provide start-up support where needed.
