Job summary

Sunstate Equipment Co. in the Dallas area seeks a Field Mechanic III to diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment in the field.

You will travel across DFW, Central Texas, and Oklahoma, work independently, and take ownership from diagnosis to completion. Qualifications

• 2+ years relevant specialty experience; 5+ years ideal.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with diesel engines, generators, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
• Experience repairing and maintaining construction or specialty equipment, including generators, diesel pumps, power equipment, air compressors, HVAC, and heavy equipment.
• Experience with Generac, Cummins, Kohler, Caterpillar, or similar equipment is a plus.
• Military experience welcomed when it includes relevant equipment maintenance or mechanical experience.
• Background in diesel, oil and gas, oil field, automotive, construction, industrial maintenance, HVAC, military, or heavy equipment may be considered.
• Ability to work independently in the field and make sound troubleshooting and repair decisions without constant supervision.
• Valid driver's license and ability to maintain a clean MVR required.
• Ability to travel throughout the assigned territory, including DFW, Central Texas, and Oklahoma, with occasional overnight travel.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and respond to changing customer and business needs.
• Basic computer skills for work orders, parts ordering, service documentation, and communication.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair equipment to manufacturer specifications.
• Travel throughout DFW, Central Texas, and Oklahoma; occasional overnight travel.
• Take ownership of repairs from diagnosis to completion.
• Provide excellent customer service in the field.
• Complete work orders and service documentation.
