Job summary

Ohio CAT, a Caterpillar Dealership, is seeking a Field Service Technician to diagnose, maintain, and repair CAT power generation equipment on-site. You’ll work from a fully equipped service truck, servicing generators, switchgear, ATS, control panels, and distribution systems.

You’ll perform load bank testing, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and use CAT ET and SIS diagnostic tools while delivering strong customer service and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 2-year technical program in diesel/power generation preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience; 5+ years hands-on experience in repairing diesel engines, generators, and industrial equipment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Caterpillar power generation equipment on-site.
• Work from a fully equipped service truck servicing generators, switchgear, ATS, and control panels.
• Perform load bank testing, commissioning, and preventive maintenance.
• Use CAT ET, SIS, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot issues and support customers.
• Ensure safety protocols and documentation standards are followed.
