Job summary
Amazon is seeking a Power Generation Engineer to lead the evaluation and development of primary, temporary, and backup power designs for AWS data centers. You will own challenging problems, drive technical decisions, and guide cross‑functional teams in selecting configurations and technologies to meet reliability and sustainability goals.
The role requires a deep understanding of power generation equipment, including diesel gensets, energy storage, and distributed energy resources, with a focus
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 3+ years leading power infrastructure designs for mission critical facilities.
- Experience with UPS, MV/HV switchgear, and power distribution equipment.
- Knowledge of diesel gensets, energy storage, and grid interconnection.
- Experience with electrical drawings and one-line diagrams.
Responsibilities
- Lead power generation design and analysis for data center loads.
- Develop power configurations for primary, temporary, and backup systems.
- Evaluate designs against safety, availability, and cost targets.
- Create SLDs, equipment specs, and performance data for projects.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and external partners.
