Job summary

Commonwealth-Associates,-In is seeking a mid-level designer to work under general supervision, applying design standards and document-control procedures to create and modify deliverables.

The role supports project teams, learns the Quality Program, and may provide guidance to other designers; requires about two years of related experience and an associate degree in Drafting & Design.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years related work experience.
• Familiarity with design standards and document-control procedures.
• Ability to assist in coordinating deliverables within project teams.

Responsibilities

• Continues to learn and remains current on project standards, systems, document control, policies and procedures.
• Applies knowledge of the Quality Program to ensure deliverables are accurate and compliant.
• Evaluates design methods and processes to improve deliverables; creates deliverables from design inputs; may perform quantity estimates and checks.
• Assists in coordinating deliverables within the team(s) on the same project.
• Focuses on internal clients while understanding external client needs.

Job description

Functions in a mid level Designer capacity. Under general supervision, performs functions requiring intermediate knowledge and use of standards and document control processes/procedures in support of creating and modifying deliverables. May begin to provide technical guidance to other Designers.

Job Responsibilities

• Continues to learn and remains current on project standards, systems, document control, department and company policies and procedures.
• Begins to proactively apply knowledge of the Quality Program to ensure that the deliverables are accurate and compliant. Supports continuous improvement of guides and standards.
• Understands applications to evaluate and improve design methods, processes and procedures used to accomplish deliverables. Create and develop deliverables based on a variety of design inputs. May perform material quantity estimates and dimensional checks.
• Assist in coordinating deliverables within the team or teams involved on the same project.
• Focuses on the needs of internal clients while gaining basic understanding of external clients.

Experience

Typically a minimum of 2 years related work experience.
