Job summary

PG&E in Chico, California is seeking a journey-level Project Engineer to provide complete engineering, design, project management, and technical support to O&M staff for moderately complex capital and expense improvements to power generation facilities.

The role requires a 4-year BS in Engineering, a California PE license (or another state's license with CA transfer within 18 months), and at least 3 years of cumulative project engineering experience.

Qualifications

  • 4-year BS Degree in Engineering from an accredited curriculum in the US or the equivalent from outside the US is required.
  • Current California (CA) Professional Engineer (PE) license or license in another state/Canada with requirement to obtain CA PE within 18 months; failure leads to demotion.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of cumulative experience in project engineering, design and construction and mastery of Associate level duties.

Responsibilities

  • Leads design and/or project management for moderately complex generation projects.
  • Provides broad and in-depth technical support to O&M including incident investigation and corrective actions.
  • Controls scope, schedule, cost, and quality of designs and projects across project life cycle.
  • Reviews engineering analyses, scope, alternatives, and designs for safe/reliable operation of generation assets.
  • Prepares/evaluates contracts and proposals, including EPC, and directs resulting work; reviews consultant contracts for compliance.
  • Interprets and applies applicable codes; approves stamps on technical reports and drawings.
  • Represents PG&E to internal/external organizations and coordinates with stakeholders.
  • Identifies gaps between practices and objectives and suggests process improvements.
