Job summary

We Energies in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is seeking a Power Generation Mechanical Engineering Intern for a May/June 2027 start. The internship is full-time through the summer with potential for part-time work during the school year.

The role offers competitive pay with an hourly starting rate and holidays paid, while providing real-world, hands-on experience within the Power Generation team.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Mechanical Engineering or related field with expected graduation after July 2027.
• Minimum GPA of 2.8 required.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Support and shadow the plant mechanical engineer
• Equipment reliability
• Capital project support
• Gain familiarity with company computer applications, drawing management systems, and work management tools
• Search, retrieve, review and update drawings and related technical documentation
• Help troubleshoot operation and maintenance issues under direct supervision
• Participate in safety observations and environmental walkdowns
• Support outage planning activities such as scope development, material management and vendor selection
• Introduction to high energy piping inspections to detect and manage flow accelerated corrosion
• Complete assigned training on corporate policies, plant systems, and safety

High School Diploma

Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering

Graduation after July 2027

Minimum GPA 2.8
