Job summary

Kiewit seeks interns for a hands-on construction management internship across its Power Market. You will develop and participate in key roles within field operations, gaining real-world experience aligned with a future full-time career.

This internship involves relocation and travel to project sites across the United States. You will learn cost estimation, scheduling, safety, and coordination while supporting supervisors and subcontractors in a fast-paced heavy construction environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering or related degree.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies.

Responsibilities

• Work with a vibrant and diverse team to build, estimate, and schedule mechanical, electrical and heavy industrial systems.
• Support both administrative and construction activities as assigned by the supervisor, reviewing proposals/specifications, drawings, perform material takeoffs, prepare cost estimates and attend pre-bid investigation meetings.
• Learn how to supervise subcontractors and communicate with vendors.
• Prepare work plans, assure quality control, manage and track costs and materials, schedule equipment, administer safety programs and maintain exceptional owner relations.
