The Firm
THE FIRM: Our client is a mid-market energy transition focused private equity fund. They focus on making investments across power, renewable energy, energy transition, energy infrastructure, and the energy supply chain. They are looking to add an Associate to their deal team due to their available dry powder and deal flow. This is the chance to be a core member of a growing team with substantial exposure to senior leadership and substantial potential for upward mobility.
The Role
THE ROLE: As an Associate, you will support all aspects of the investment life cycle, including origination, execution, structuring, pricing and negotiation of new investments. This Associate will also monitor portfolio company investments through the investment period and ultimately assess and effect a monetization of the investment that maximizes return.
Responsibilities
- Support all aspects of deal execution including due diligence, financial modeling, valuation, structuring, and documentation.
- Build and maintain detailed financial models to evaluate investment opportunities and support decision-making.
- Conduct sector and company-specific research to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in the energy, power, renewable energy, energy infrastructure, and clean energy supply chain & services sectors.
- Prepare investment memos, presentations, and supporting documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in the ongoing management of portfolio companies, including performance tracking, reporting, and strategic initiatives.
- Assist in sourcing business opportunities and discussing relevant factors with the firm’s senior managers.
Required Experience
- 2-5 years of Investment Banking and/or Private Equity experience with a focus on power, utilities, renewable energy, energy transition, industrials, or other related sectors.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, self-starter, and ability to work independently within a small organization.
- Strong proficiency in Excel-based financial modeling and valuation techniques.
- Demonstrated experience supporting transaction execution, including due diligence and deal structuring.
- Experience creating presentations with detailed quantitative and qualitative analysis as well as external marketing materials.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
