Job summary

Selby Jennings is seeking an Associate to join its principal investing team in Greenwich, CT. The role focuses on building models and conducting rigorous due diligence across energy, infrastructure and real assets, supporting underwriting and decision-making from evaluation to closing.

You will prepare materials for investment committees, analyze potential opportunities, and monitor portfolio performance while coordinating with internal stakeholders to drive transaction success.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, infrastructure investing or related fields.
• Strong financial modeling, valuation and accounting skills with the ability to build models from scratch.
• Experience supporting M&A, capital raising, or other transactional work.
• Interest or experience in energy, infrastructure, natural resources or real assets.
• Clear written and verbal communication with the ability to present investment ideas concisely.
• Detail-oriented, highly organized and comfortable in a fast-paced environment with responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain detailed financial, valuation, and scenario models for underwriting.
• Perform market, industry, asset, and counterparty due diligence across multiple areas.
• Prepare investment committee materials, memoranda, and presentations.
• Support transaction execution from evaluation through closing, coordinating advisors and diligence.
• Analyze potential investments across energy, infrastructure, natural resources, and real assets.
• Monitor portfolio investments with performance reporting and budget tracking.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to evaluate opportunities and drivers.
• Screen opportunities, maintain pipelines, and assist origination efforts.
