Our client is one of the country’s leading investment firms with a carbon negative focus. With several decades of experience, our client manages hundreds of millions of dollars worth of assets to accelerate the energy transition.

Role Overview

Our client is hiring an Associate, Portfolio Management to join its team. This role will contribute to the ongoing evaluation of the firm’s current investment holdings while also assisting with financial, commercial, and operational diligence for prospective investments.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth evaluations of operating renewable energy assets with a focus on generation output, revenue drivers, and cost performance
  • Collect, organize, and translate asset-level data into internal systems to support accurate portfolio tracking and analysis
  • Develop, maintain, and update financial and operating models to assess project economics, performance trends, and risk exposure
  • Partner closely with portfolio management and investment colleagues to support decision-making and portfolio objectives
  • Create presentation materials and analytical summaries for leadership that highlight asset performance, key insights, and potential optimization opportunities
  • Assist with investment evaluation activities by supporting diligence for debt, equity, and acquisition opportunities, including analysis of operating assumptions, cost structures, and market pricing forecasts
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree or higher in finance, economics, business, or a related field, with progress toward or completion of a professional designation such as the CFA viewed favorably
  • Extensive experience in renewable energy finance, power-sector investing, valuation, project finance, or investment banking
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including hands-on experience building and working with sophisticated financial models and large datasets
  • Strong communication and relationship-building abilities suited for a dynamic, fast-moving, and entrepreneurial workplace
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present analysis effectively
  • Highly organized and detail-focused, with the capacity to juggle multiple workstreams and adapt quickly as priorities evolve
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and capable of working independently while contributing positively within a collaborative team environment
  • Familiarity with data analytics, visualization, and reporting platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL-based tools, or similar systems is a plus
