Job summary

Clayco is seeking a Project Executive to lead the Power & Energy (BESS) business unit, driving new business, client satisfaction, and successful project delivery. You will oversee multiple large design-build programs, guide negotiations, and manage cross-functional teams across the Southeast and beyond.

You bring an entrepreneurial, Seller/Doer mindset with 20+ years in construction, strong leadership, and proven ability to win work while maintaining safety and quality on complex energy

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 20-25 years of progressive construction experience with $50M+ projects including BESS/renewables.
• Deep understanding of cost drivers and balance-of-plant systems; EPC contracts.
• Proven ability to lead large cross-functional teams and develop talent.
• Strong business acumen and client-facing communication.
• Ability to travel and work on-site across Southeast and nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Drive and implement Power & Energy business plan; build new client relationships.
• Lead RFQ/RFP responses; manage design, preconstruction, marketing, and client presentations.
• Serve as executive contact for clients; ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
• Provide executive oversight during construction; ensure schedule, budget, and safety standards.
• Mentor teams and foster high-performing workforce.
• Collaborate with operations on major trade buyouts and early design tasks.
• Identify opportunities for innovation and cost savings.
