Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Full‑Time Electrical Engineering (Generation) Intern to join our Overland Park, KS office for a 12‑week Summer Internship starting May 17, 2027. You will work with the Power and Energy Team on real projects alongside senior staff.

As an intern, you will gain hands‑on experience, mentorship, and exposure to design calculations, field work, and project documentation while developing technical and professional skills in Electrical Engineering.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date Aug 2027 or later.
• Must be 18+ and authorized to work in the United States at internship start.
• Demonstrated interest in Electrical Engineering and eagerness to learn through WSP projects.
• Strong interpersonal and professional communication for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Ability to follow directions from mentors and leaders to execute projects.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, and tools.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Electrical Engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s policies.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
