Job summary

Lucid Motors is seeking a Test Engineer for our Power Electronics Test & Validation team. You will execute component- and system-level verification and validation for power electronics hardware, build and maintain test setups, and contribute to DVP&Rs under guidance of senior team members.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field, 3+ years in power electronics testing, hands-on bench work, and knowledge of HV safety practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Power Electronics, or related field.
• 3+ years in power electronics development and testing preferred.
• Solid understanding of power electronics fundamentals (switching topologies, magnetics, control loops, thermal behavior).
• Hands-on experience with hardware test and validation, including bench build-up and instrumentation.
• Exposure to DVP&R creation and requirements-based test case development.
• Knowledge of automotive/industrial environmental reliability requirements (GMW, ISO, IEC).
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute component- and system-level verification and validation testing for power electronics products (on-board chargers, DC-DC converters, inverters, HV assemblies).
• Draft test cases from requirements, track test status and coverage, log results, and report pass/fail against acceptance criteria.
• Review electrical and mechanical schematics and create test cell layouts for instrumentation.
• Build and commission test benches including jigs, fixtures, instrumentation, harnessing, and data acquisition systems.
• Define system-level test setups, including load profiles and HV/LV interface configurations, with lead validation engineer.
• Perform hands-on testing and troubleshooting using lab equipment.
• Support root-cause investigation of test failures and anomalies with clear technical summaries.
• Process and analyze test data, generate plots and summary metrics, and author clear test reports.
• Maintain lab equipment, calibration records, test documentation, and safe HV lab practices.
• Collaborate with design, systems, quality, and manufacturing teams to support issue resolution.
