Job summary

Actalent in Saint Louis, MO is seeking a Hardware Electronics Engineer I to design motor control power electronics through the full product lifecycle. You will translate designs with customers and suppliers into manufacturable hardware, provide technical guidance, and use PSPICE, PCB design tools, and lab equipment for testing.

This onsite role focuses on analog and power electronics, with opportunities to contribute across concept, prototype, validation, and production.

Qualifications

• 0 to 3 years of analog and digital circuit design experience.
• Hands-on experience or strong academic background in motor control hardware.
• Proficiency in analog hardware design focused on power supplies and motor control circuits.
• Experience with PSPICE or similar circuit simulation software.
• Experience with PCB schematic capture and PCB layout for power electronics.
• Familiarity with SMPS and PFC circuits.
• Ability to analyze, test, and verify circuits.
• Experience with product development from concept to production.
• Strong problem-solving and collaborative skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop motor control power electronics from concept through production.
• Create analog and digital hardware designs focusing on power supplies and motor control circuits.
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and manufacturing partners to translate requirements into manufacturable hardware.
• Use PSPICE or similar tools to analyze and validate circuit designs before prototyping.
• Develop PCB schematics and layouts for power electronics hardware.
• Perform circuit analysis, testing, and verification for performance, reliability, and safety.
• Support the full product development lifecycle from concept to production.
• Provide guidance to maintain schedules and manage product cost.
• Document design decisions, test results, and changes.
