Job summary

Phihong USA in Bohemia, NY seeks a Power Electronics Engineer to analyze, design, and develop switch-mode power supplies from concept to production. You will work on cost-effective AC/DC converters and high-frequency offline topologies for desktop, server, telecom, and motor drive applications.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 2+ years in analog/power electronics; experience with PSpice and Mathcad is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in analog circuit design or power electronics preferred; new grads welcome.
• Knowledge of switch-mode power supplies, AC/DC conversion, power electronics, and analog circuit design principles.
• Familiarity with PSpice and Mathcad.
• Understanding of circuit analysis, power conversion topologies, and design validation methodologies.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, model, simulate, design, and develop switch-mode power supplies (10W–2000W) from concept to production.
• Design and develop cost-effective AC/DC power conversion circuits.
• Create high-frequency, offline switch-mode converters and inverters for various applications.
• Optimize designs for efficiency, power density, reliability, and cost.
• Perform circuit simulations and calculations to evaluate performance.
• Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
• Evaluate components and topologies against performance and safety requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
• Prepare technical documentation, design specs, and test reports.
• Support prototype development, validation, and troubleshooting of existing products.
• Stay current with power electronics developments for continuous improvement.
• Travel domestically and internationally as required.
