Job summary

Strativ Group in Hawthorne, CA, is seeking a Power Electronics Engineer to help design high-power conversion hardware for aerospace applications. You will design converters and inverters above 10 kW and work with power semiconductors.

Collaborate with controls, firmware and mechanical teams, perform hands-on testing and bring prototypes to flight-ready readiness. 3+ years in power electronics and experience with gate drives, EMI/EMC, and thermal management are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in power electronics design and development.
• Experience with power converters, inverters, DC-DC conversion or motor drives.
• Knowledge of gate drives, protection circuits and high-voltage, high-current PCB design.
• Hands-on experience with hardware bring-up, testing and debugging.
• An understanding of thermal management and EMI/EMC.

Responsibilities

• Designing high-power converters and inverters above 10 kW.
• Developing power stages, selecting components and working with power semiconductors.
• Tackling challenges around efficiency, thermal management, EMI/EMC and reliability.
• Bringing prototypes to life through hands-on testing, debugging and verification.
• Working closely with controls, firmware and mechanical engineers to deliver mission-ready hardware.
