Job summary

Bascom Hunter is building advanced aerospace and defense hardware, including high-performance Environmental Control Systems (ECS), power systems and air-moving machinery for demanding Aerospace and Defense platforms. We’re seeking a Power Electronics Engineer to design and integrate power electronics used in high-performance fan, compressor, and turbomachinery development.

You will own performance, drive power-density improvements, and shape next-generation system architectures, collaborating

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
5+ years designing power electronics hardware in Aerospace/Defense.
Experience with high-power inverter and gate drive circuitry for motor drives.
Experience designing for 270–600 VDC environments.
Proficiency with simulation tools and C/MATLAB programming.
Strong EE fundamentals with FPGA- or MCU-based embedded systems.
Ability to move from concept to hardware validation.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
U.S. Citizen for program eligibility.

Responsibilities

Design, simulate and analyze power electronic systems and drive systems.
Develop controls architecture, identify sensor needs and software requirements of power conversion devices.
Analyze systems with respect to electrical, harmonic, and thermal behavior.
Support prototype fabrication, instrumentation, testing, and qualification activities.
Support system integration of power electronics with high performance machines. Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, controls, and electrical engineers to ensure performance meets system-level requirements.
