Job summary

NPAworldwide in Milwaukee seeks a Field Application Engineer to drive power and thermal product implementations, align with customer needs, and build cross-functional partnerships across Product Management, Sales, and Engineering.

The role requires deep technical expertise in power electronics and thermal management, with on-site responsibilities at key accounts and a focus on pre-sales demos, design-in support, and post-sales troubleshooting to ensure successful outcomes.

Qualifications

• B.S.E. in Electrical, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline.
• 5+ years related product or field application experience in power electronic products.
• Proven ability to translate customer needs into solutions and champion those solutions internally.
• Hands-on expertise with power electronics (AC/DC, DC/DC, DC/AC converters, chargers, motor drives).
• Familiarity with thermal solutions (axial fans, EC fans, liquid cooling, solenoids, pumps).
• Strong communication, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Market familiarity with industries including industrial logistics, energy, agriculture, medical, lighting, automation, food & beverage, off-road vehicles, CNC machines, packaging, oil & gas.
• Willingness to travel 20-30%.

Responsibilities

• Be on-site technical champion at customer locations delivering pre-sales demonstrations.
• Provide design-in support and post-sales troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Sales, Engineering, and external stakeholders.
• Test new product introductions and validate performance.
• Partner with R&D to address product issues and improvements.
• Support sales with training, launches, documentation, and trade shows.
• Develop customer-facing materials highlighting solutions.
