Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. is seeking a Distribution Technician to assist with inspecting power distribution poles for clients.

This role involves field inspection of overhead and underground facilities, data collection, and maintenance reporting within the Power Distribution Engineering team in the Power Sector. Responsibilities include design sketches, cost estimates, materials lists, and reports; load studies and corrective actions; rights of way negotiations; data acquisition and documentation; and

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Familiarity with National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) or utility experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of computers and software applications desired (MS Office products) preferred.
• Clean and valid Driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Design and prepare construction orders for overhead and underground facilities.
• Apply client standards and industry guidelines for layouts of distribution facilities.
• Prepare sketches, cost estimates, BOMs, and reports for projects.
• Assist in load studies and investigate circuit overloads and voltage issues.
• Negotiate rights of way with landowners or agents and gather needed information.
• Prepare and submit required reports and correspondence.
• Assist in acquiring field data and gathering information from field notes.
• Digitize, copy, and scan drawings, prints, and maps.
• Use client/company systems to track design activities.
• Follow safety codes and company safety policies.
