Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. is seeking a Distribution Designer I to join our Power Distribution Engineering Group.

The role is based in Wisconsin with duties across eastern WI, focusing on field data collection, detailed design of electric distribution systems, and back-office support. You will gather field data, input information into engineering programs, and prepare notes, drawings, specifications, and estimates as defined by the client’s scope of work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At minimum 2-year technical degree; Bachelor’s degree acceptable but not required.
• Experience in Electric Utility or telecommunications preferred.
• Familiarity with NESC preferred.
• Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed design of electric distribution systems and prepare field notes, drawings, specifications, and design estimates.
• Acquire knowledge of NESC, national engineering standards, utility construction standards, and best practices.
• Maintain project production and quality, including field data, photographs, analyses, and records.
• Prepare electrical and roadway drawings, calculations, charts & graphics, and construction packages.
• Conduct field data collection using laptops/tablets, GPS, and other devices.
