Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. is seeking a Distribution Designer I to perform field data collection and detailed design for overhead and/or underground electric distribution systems.

You will gather field data, input into client tools, and prepare notes, drawings, specifications, and estimates as defined by the scope of work. You will design construction orders, collect equipment data in the field, and prepare computer-aided designs.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in a technical field is preferred.
• DEG Management may consider other education/background for appointment.
• Shall have leadership and technical capability to perform duties and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and prepare construction orders for overhead/underground electric distribution.
• Gather field data using Trimble GPS and Hastings Stick.
• Prepare field notes and design using data collection tools.
• Transfer field notes to structural design and cost estimates.
• Prepare CAD drawings with accuracy and minimal errors.
• Perform design services per drawings, specs, standards.
• Compute engineering calculations (pole loading, transformer sizing).
• Coordinate design development to meet project schedules.
• Aim to meet weekly billable goals and other duties as assigned.
