Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Support electrical product design activities including component selection and interconnection hardware.
  • Develop specifications and technical documentation for power protection systems.
  • Design switchboard power and control circuits.
  • Create and maintain schematics and BOMs.
  • Assist with integration of third‑party devices.
  • Participate in hardware design reviews.
  • Prepare customer and manufacturing documentation and test procedures.
  • Provide sustaining engineering support for power protection products.
  • Troubleshoot systems through hands‑on testing.
  • Support UL, CSA, IEC safety certifications.

Electrical Design Engineer I

Location: Marietta, OH
Job Type: Full-Time Direct Hire
Starting Salary: $80,000/year (higher compensation available based on experience)

Position Overview

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer I to support the design, development, and improvement of power distribution equipment. This role will contribute to electrical design projects, product development initiatives, testing, and technical documentation while supporting safe, reliable, and market-ready solutions.

The ideal candidate is a motivated electrical engineer with experience in power systems, circuit design, and electrical documentation who enjoys hands‑on problem solving and collaborating with cross‑functional teams.

  • Support electrical product design activities, including component selection, thermal considerations, mechanical packaging support, and interconnection hardware design.
  • Apply knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, magnetics, and thermal management concepts.
  • Develop engineering specifications and technical documentation for power protection systems.
  • Design switchboard power and control circuits.
  • Create and maintain engineering documents, including schematics and bills of materials (BOMs).
  • Assist with the integration and qualification of third‑party devices used in power distribution equipment.
  • Participate in hardware design reviews to evaluate product performance and reliability.
  • Develop and support customer and manufacturing documentation, test procedures, and technical reports.
  • Provide sustaining engineering support for both new and existing power protection products.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems and subsystems through hands‑on testing and analysis.
  • Support product safety certifications and testing with regulatory organizations, including UL, CSA, and IEC standards.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
  • Experience using AutoCAD or similar CAD drafting software.
  • Experience designing power distribution systems or equipment, including:
    • Power Distribution Units (PDU)
    • Static Transfer Switches (STS)
    • Remote Power Panels (RPP)
    • Switchboards
  • Experience using electrical engineering tools such as oscilloscopes, network analyzers, signal generators, and related test equipment.
  • Knowledge of three‑phase power systems and electrical power distribution.
  • Strong technical writing, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Strong laboratory skills with the ability to troubleshoot and solve technical problems.
  • A strong foundation in electrical engineering principles.
  • Ability to analyze problems and develop practical solutions.
  • Attention to detail when creating designs and technical documentation.
  • Interest in supporting innovative power distribution technologies and product improvements.
