Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
  • Experience designing power distribution solutions (PDU, STS, RPP, switchboards).

Responsibilities

  • Design electrical systems at the product level, including component selection and interconnection hardware.
  • Apply knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, magnetics and thermal engineering.
  • Develop specifications for power protection systems and switchboards.
  • Create and maintain BOMs and schematics and documentation.
  • Support qualification and integration of third-party devices into power equipment.
  • Participate in hardware design reviews for robustness and performance.
  • Provide sustaining engineering support for new and legacy systems.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems and subsystems hands-on.
  • Assist with safety certifications (UL/IEC standards).

Electrical Design Engineer – Power Systems

Location: Marietta, OH
Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
Salary: Starting at $[starting rate], higher depending on experience

Position Overview

We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to support the development, testing, certification, and ongoing improvement of power distribution and power protection equipment. This hands-on engineering role focuses on electrical design, component selection, troubleshooting, documentation, and product integration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design electrical systems at the product level, including component selection, thermal system design, mechanical packaging concepts, and interconnection hardware selection/design.
  • Apply knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, magnetics, and thermal engineering.
  • Develop engineering and technical design specifications for power protection systems.
  • Design switchboard power and control circuits.
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation, including bills of materials (BOMs) and schematics.
  • Support the qualification and integration of third-party devices into power distribution equipment.
  • Participate in hardware design reviews to evaluate product robustness and performance.
  • Contribute to customer and manufacturing documentation, test procedures, and technical reports.
  • Provide sustaining engineering support for both newly launched and legacy power protection systems.
  • Perform hands-on troubleshooting of electrical systems and subsystems.
  • Support product safety certifications with NRTL organizations and applicable UL, CSA, and IEC standards.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD drafting software.
  • Experience designing power distribution solutions such as:
    • PDU
    • STS
    • RPP
    • Switchboards
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency with basic electrical engineering laboratory equipment, including:
    • Oscilloscopes
    • Network analyzers
    • Signal generators
    • Other standard EE test equipment
  • Experience with three-phase electrical systems and electrical power systems.
  • Strong technical writing, documentation, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong laboratory, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
