Job summary

Sigma Technologies is seeking an experienced Power Designer for field data collection and end-to-end design of overhead utility poles. The role involves verifying field conditions, ensuring NESC compliance, and delivering construction-ready packages.

The position requires fieldwork across various territories with 50%+ travel, remote work when not in the field, and a strong emphasis on switching from field to design teams to minimize handoff gaps.

Qualifications

• Must have field data collection experience to support design work.
• Experience applying NESC standards and clearance analysis.
• Proficiency with CAD or MicroStation; familiarity with DDS, Katapult, or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

• Perform field data collection and pole walkouts to capture attachment, clearance, and structural data.
• Execute overhead distribution and make-ready designs in line with NESC and client standards.
• Evaluate field conditions to determine make-ready requirements and pole replacements.
• Develop complete, construction-ready design packages for joint-use and general distribution.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management, and quality teams; participate in QC reviews.
