Job summary

Fermilab is seeking a Power Supply Electrical Technician III to support the Power Supply Maintenance Group onsite in Batavia, IL. The role provides moderately complex technical support for laboratory equipment and systems under general supervision.

Responsibilities include fabrication, testing, documentation, safety duties, and potential shift supervision. Considerable experience with electrical, mechanical, and ES&H concepts is required.

Qualifications

• HS degree or technical certificate or equivalent.
• 5+ years of related experience or up to 3+ years DOE lab experience.
• Ability to work on complex projects and possibly operate a government vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Fabricates, sets-up, operates, tests, repairs, and modifies electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment.
• Acts as point person for technical issues; assists in construction and assembly.
• Prepares test set-ups and uses diagnostic software.
• Documents work; enters data into databases and logs.
• Performs ES&H duties, safety inspections and waste handling.
• Responds to emergencies and may work off-hours.
