Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Power Design Coordinator/EIT in the United States (Seattle/Bellevue area) to analyze power designs, prepare project deliverables, and perform engineering assignments under guidance.

You will work with Project Engineers and BIM specialists on one-line diagrams, protection schemes, SCADA, and substation layouts, with occasional travel. The role supports an employee-owned culture and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• Computer skills in Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Conduct analyses to develop power-related design options or recommendations, and assist in the preparation of project deliverables (examples include engineering drawing packages, cost estimates, and project specifications)
• Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables
• Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers / professionals on larger projects Work with assistance from Project Engineers, other Engineers In-Training (EITs), Designers, or BIM Specialists as needed
• Typical designs include one-line diagrams, protection and control schematic development, wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, substation physical layouts, material lists, conduit and cable sizing/routing, AC and DC systems calculations and sizing, and substation grounding.
• Occasional short-term travel (typically 1-5 days) may be necessary. Longer term (several weeks) assignments may be required infrequently on project assignments.
• Perform other duties as needed
