Job summary

Dominion Energy is seeking a motivated engineering student for a summer internship with the Siting, Surveying, and Permitting Engineering team. You will support the transmission system projects and field activities to help ensure reliable service.

You’ll work with engineers and technicians on real projects, gain hands-on experience with Civil 3D CAD drawings, GIS tools, and project documentation, and learn Dominion Energy’s safety and environmental stewardship.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Forestry (ABET-accredited).
• Anticipated graduation date of 2028 or later.
• Must have a 2.5 GPA or higher.

Responsibilities

• Support transmission and substation engineering projects involving high-voltage (33kV – 230kV) transmission lines and associated facilities.
• Assist with Survey, Drafting, and Civil 3D CAD drawings.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
• Utilize Civil 3D, HydroCAD, ArcGIS and other software to support project work.
• Participate in field visits to transmission lines, substations, and construction sites.
