Dominion Energy invites applications for an Intern - Electric Transmission Surveying Services. The role supports land surveying and geospatial tasks for transmission projects, under supervision.

You’ll gain hands-on experience with GPS/GNSS, GIS, CAD, photogrammetry, LiDAR, and related technologies while collaborating with cross‑functional teams. The position offers a hybrid 3-2 work schedule, with potential field exposure and mentorship.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of surveying, engineering, mapping, GIS, or related concepts gained through academic coursework or relevant experience.
• Familiarity with CAD, GIS, GPS/GNSS, surveying equipment, data processing, or mapping software is beneficial.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and communicate progress clearly.
• Ability to learn and follow established technical procedures and safety requirements.
• Analytical, mathematical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to organize information, maintain records, manage priorities, and meet schedules.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Commitment to safe work practices and continuous learning.
• No directly related professional experience required.

Responsibilities

• Support land surveying and geospatial activities for transmission projects.
• Assist with researching records, deeds, easements, plats, and right‑of‑way information.
• Organize and review survey data, perform basic computations, and update maps and drawings.
• Support CAD and GIS tasks and project documentation.
• Participate in supervised field activities and observe data collection and processing.
