Job summary

GAI is seeking a Distribution Line Intern to join our Power Delivery Team in Orlando, FL. This temporary three-month internship offers hands-on experience supporting engineers and project managers on distribution design and related tasks.

The role requires strong technical and communication skills, willingness to learn, and the ability to analyze structures against codes and standards. Enrollment in an engineering bachelor's program (civil preferred) is required.

Qualifications

• Entry level position; no prior experience required.
• Developed technical, communication, and computer skills.
• Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in engineering (civil preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers and project managers with day-to-day tasks.
• Prepare specification packages and distribution line drawings.
• Analyze structures for codes and standards.
• Perform electrical clearance checks and calculations.
• Coordinate permits for railroads, roadways, and environmental crossings.
• Apply engineering principles to assist in design of power delivery projects.
• Demonstrate written and verbal communication skills.
• Follow established processes for complex tasks.
