GAI Consultants, Inc. seeks a Distribution Line Intern to join our Power Delivery Team in Orlando, FL. The role supports engineers and PMs, assisting with distribution design and day-to-day tasks while developing engineering skills.

The internship is a three-month, in-office position based in Orlando, requiring enrollment in an engineering program with relevant coursework. Strong communication and computer skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Enrolled at an accredited college or university to obtain a bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Required courses: Statics, Material Science, and Structural Analysis.
• Preferred: Soil Mechanics, Steel Design, and Concrete Design.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers and project managers with day-to-day project tasks for successful project delivery.
• Prepare Specification Packages and distribution line drawings.
• Analyze existing and proposed structures for codes, standards, and specifications.
• Perform Electrical Clearance checks and calculations.
• Coordinate permits for Railroads, Roadways, and Environmental Crossings.
• Apply engineering principles to assist in design of Power Delivery projects.
• Demonstrate attention to detail and strong written/verbal communication.
• Follow established processes to perform complex tasks.
