Job summary

PacifiCorp seeks experienced engineers and project managers to lead large capital projects in its Power Delivery group in Salt Lake City. You will oversee design, planning, execution and closeout, coordinating cross-functional teams and ensuring safety, quality and regulatory compliance.

You will manage schedules, costs, and scope while negotiating with vendors and tracking progress. Depending on experience, roles range from II to Sr levels with increasing responsibility and budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Related professional experience.
• Experience or formal education in project cost, schedule, scope controls, forecasting and reporting.
• Ability to analyze information, form conclusions and provide meaningful solutions.
• Proficient with the use of technical applications, software, and tools.
• Ability to motivate and influence others including skills and experience in team building.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Two+ years directly related professional experience for Engineer/Operations Project Manager II.
• Three+ or more years directly related professional experience for Engineer/Operations Project Manager III.
• Five years related professional experience for Sr. Engineer/Operations Project Manager.

Responsibilities

• Manage the planning and design of multiple large-scale capital projects (modifications/additions to facilities and infrastructure).
• Deliver assigned projects within approved scope, budget, schedule, and governance.
• Develop scopes of work and requests for proposals for external contracts.
• Plan, schedule, and execute all phases of projects per PM processes and governance.
• Develop and manage project schedules and issue regular progress reports.
• Establish, track, and control project cost, scope, schedule, and risk.
• Provide quality reporting, cost forecasting, schedule/float management, and change control.
• Participate in negotiations with vendors and contractors for work scope changes.
• Coordinate with procurement to solicit external materials and services.
• Manage bid processes and contracts for external engineering and construction services.
• Interface with department manager for approvals and risk management.
