Job summary

Kimley-Horn is seeking Electrical Engineering students to join our Everett, WA office on the Power Delivery team for hands-on pre-design and design work. This on-site role provides exposure to field investigations, drawings, and multidisciplinary coordination. Responsibilities span from schematic designs to energy calculations and power system studies, with collaboration across teams and disciplines.

Hourly rate offered at $33-34. Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• In the process of pursuing an ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and verify as-built drawings.
• Perform field investigations.
• Set up drawings and models for multiple disciplines.
• Collaborate with team members regarding design coordination, schedules, and deliverables.
• Perform feasibility studies.
• Prepare schematic designs.
• Design electrical systems including Ports & Harbors electrification, EV charging, and building electrical.
• Develop reports and design documents, including electrical design plans, equipment selection, solar system sizing, and power analyses.
• Participate on project teams in an active production role.
• Daily interaction and collaboration on cross-functional teams across multiple disciplines.
• Perform energy calculations using EnergyPro or IES VE.
• Develop single-line diagrams and load schedules.
• Design lighting selection and controls.
• Design normal, emergency, and renewable power systems.
• Perform Arc Flash, Short Circuit, and Coordination Power System Studies using ETAP and/or SKM.

Education
