Job summary
The United Illuminating Company is seeking an Engineer for Distribution Infrastructure in Orange, CT to perform reliable power delivery design and analysis. You will work with minimal guidance from a mentor to support upgrades, repairs, and new construction of electric distribution assets.
Candidates should have a BS/BA in Engineering, 2–5+ years in power delivery, and CAD experience. This onsite role emphasizes safety, collaboration, and adherence to engineering standards for project success.
Qualifications
- The candidate will hold a BS/BA in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Strong understanding of engineering design, analysis, and documentation practices.
- Ability to analyze power delivery systems and interpret drawings and schematics.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic to moderately complex engineering analysis, design and calculations.
- Develop and present design concepts; determine alternate methods and create action plans for connections or improvements.
- Review drawings (site plans, schematics, one‑line diagrams) and ensure compliance with standards.
