Job summary

Ohio's Electric Cooperatives seeks a Power Delivery Analyst to lead day-to-day DER interconnection activities and perform analysis, planning, and regulatory work to support power delivery for member cooperatives in Ohio.

The role requires strong analytical skills, Excel proficiency, and the ability to translate data into written reports and graphics. Travel about 10% may be required; a Bachelor's in analytics is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in analytics discipline is required. Experience over and above that described below may be substituted for part of the educational requirement.
• Zero (0) to Two (2) years of experience required, though experience in power delivery and/or within the electric utility industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer proposals, agreements, and interconnections of large DERs with Ohio electric cooperatives.
• Act as primary liaison to large DER representatives and provide DER expertise to staff.
• Manage net billing policies and agreements for cooperative members.
• Maintain knowledge of DER technologies and support Buckeye Power's DER projects.
• Identify deficiencies in the transmission network; develop reports and advocate needs to transmission owners and PJM.
• Review new and existing transmission delivery points; consult with member cooperatives on points and performance metrics.
• Develop inter-departmental reports for Buckeye and members.
• Assist in pole attachment rate updates and related requirements.
• Track PUCO filings and tariff details; support rate analyses for member cooperatives and Buckeye.
• Complete regulatory submittals/filings (FERC, EIA, RUS, PUCO) as needed.
• Represent Buckeye Power at public meetings hosted by FERC, PUCO, PJM, or TOs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The power delivery analyst will lead day-to-day activities related to DERs (Distributed Energy Resources) that interconnect with electric cooperatives in Ohio and perform analysis, planning, and regulatory activities that support power delivery service to member electric cooperatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Administer the proposals, agreements, and interconnections of all large DERs that interconnect with Ohio electric cooperatives.
• Primary liaison to large DER representatives and provide expertise on DER matters to cooperative staff.
• Manage the administration of net billing policies and agreements on behalf of cooperative members.
• Maintain active knowledge of DER technologies, trends, and issues. Support current and future development of Buckeye Power's DER projects.
• Support the department in identifying deficiencies in the transmission network that serves cooperative delivery points. Develop reports on deficiencies, including statistical reliability summaries, facility condition descriptions, and analysis of exposure to outage events. Report and advocate for such needs to transmission owners and PJM.
• Support power delivery in reviewing new and existing transmission delivery points. Consult member cooperatives in establishing new delivery points and reviewing various performance metrics of existing delivery points, and solve problems associated with delivery points and transmission interconnection services.
• Develop inter-departmental reports and analyses for use by Buckeye and member cooperatives.
• Work with management to collect documentation and perform analyses to support pole attachment rate updates and associated requirements.
• Maintain current knowledge of investor-owned utility business activities related to rates and applicable PUCO filings for tariff and riders. Develop detailed periodic rate analyses for member cooperatives and Buckeye. Assists in transmission rate development and review.
• Complete multiple regulatory reporting submittals/filings as needed for the FERC, EIA, RUS, and PUCO.
• Maintain a positive relationship with all outside entities. Represent Buckeye Power and member cooperatives at public meetings hosted by FERC, PUCO, PJM, or TOs, as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk; sit; work with hands and fingers; push, pull, reach, and lift objects; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 lbs. Potential exposure to inclement weather, noise, and dust. This position involves sedentary work, which requires sitting most of the time.Must have close visual acuity to analyze data, perform inspections and view computer monitors.

Approximately 10% travel out-of-office is required and can include overnight stays.Work outside normal business hours may be required if needed.
