Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Co-op/Intern Engineer in Findlay Township to contribute to electrical power conversion systems for naval, industry, marine, and Oil & Gas applications. You will engage with MV & LV converters, E-house, switchgear, and related power systems engineering, while learning control software and model development.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in engineering programs with programming experience (MATLAB, Python, C++), knowledge of power electronics, and a strong initiative

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an engineering program at an accredited university.
• Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship for an unlimited period.
• Familiar with coding and programming tools.
• Experience with MATLAB or similar software (Python, C++, etc).
• Experience with models in AUTOCAD, ANSYS/CREO.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety, quality, and value in designs and practices.
• Prepare/review detailed technical specs for control of large power converters.
• Develop and deliver the base software package for typical project configuration.
• Learn engineering artifacts for power converters on projects.
• Create models of power electronic controls for power system studies.
• Learn HMI/Control/Process coding.
• Develop test plans per project requirements.
• Use offline and real-time models of the electrical power electronics plant.
• Manage software design process for power converters on projects.
• Learn power converter software, specifications, and system drawings.
