Job summary

Kiewit Engineering Group, Inc is seeking a Commissioning Engineer Intern to support electrical commissioning from estimating through project startup. The role involves engaging with the project team, drafting procedures, and assisting with commissioning milestones.

The intern will participate in project meetings, coordinate with SMEs, and travel as needed to various US locations, with rotations between field and office work.

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 3.0 cumulative GPA preferred.
• Willing to work on construction sites and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design review for power, power delivery, and renewable projects.
• Attend Factory Acceptance Tests for Electrical Equipment (MV, LV Switchgears, Transformers, Relay Panels, etc.)
• Develop Electrical Initial Energization Procedures (Switchyard, Back-feed, Switchgears, Initial Synch, etc.)
• Travel to project sites for short durations to support energization and startup.
• Support on-site startup activities as needed.
• Familiarity with testing and commissioning aspects of major electrical equipment & protection schemes is a plus.
