Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to lead electrical commissioning across the project lifecycle, from estimating through construction and startup. You will participate in project meetings, draft procedures, and support onsite with major milestones.

The role requires coordinating with CSU Technical Services Managers, reviewing electrical design deliverables, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Travel and relocation may be required as projects span across the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited institute.
• 0-2 years of experience as a commissioning engineer or related position preferably including:
• NETA, IEEE Testing standards
• NFPA 70E and able to demonstrate safe electrical troubleshooting skills

Responsibilities

• Assist with Design Review for Power, Power Delivery, and Renewable Projects
• Attend Factory Acceptance Tests for Electrical Equipment (MV, LV Switchgears, Transformers, Relay Panels, etc.)
• Develop Electrical Initial Energization Procedures (Switchyard, Back-feed, Switchgears, Initial Synch, etc.)
• Travel to project site for short duration as needed to carry out audit, review energization plan, and assist with major energization evolution if needed
• Work with projects start-up team with onsite activities such as the following if needed
• Familiarity with component testing and commissioning aspects of following major electrical equipment & protection scheme will be an added advantage: 220KV, 345KV Breakers, Generator Circuit Breakers, MV & LV Switchgears and MCCs, CTs, PTs, CVTs, and one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, control & protection schematics
