Job summary

MacLean-Fogg is seeking a Business Intelligence Specialist in Mundelein, IL to design, develop, and maintain reporting supporting financial, operational, and supply chain decisions.

You will build Power BI, ReportsNow, SQL, and ERP reporting while collaborating with business users to define requirements and enable a centralized data warehouse. Flexible arrangement; near Mundelein preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in information systems, analytics, CS, finance, or engineering.
• 2–4 years of experience developing production reports and dashboards.
• Hands-on Power BI experience incl. data modeling, DAX, Power Query, and publishing to a shared workspace.
• Proficient SQL writing with multi-table joins, aggregation, and performance tuning.
• Experience building reports against transactional systems; understanding of operational data structure.
• Ability to elicit requirements from non-technical users and translate to technical specs.
• Strong communication of data concepts to business users.
• Detail-oriented with ability to validate work before release.
• Ability to manage multiple requests and set priorities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy Power BI reports and dashboards with data modeling and DAX.
• Maintain reports in ReportsNow and JD Edwards reporting toolset, including distributions and drill-downs.
• Write and tune SQL queries against JD Edwards tables and SQL Server databases.
• Collaborate with finance, operations, and supply chain to gather requirements and translate into specs.
• Standardize report design, naming conventions, and data definitions across units.
• Support migration to a centralized data warehouse with portfolio rationalization.
• Develop and maintain semantic models and shared datasets for self-service reporting.
• Maintain and troubleshoot the existing report portfolio with performance tuning.
