Job summary

APR Staffing in Portland, OR is seeking a Software Developer 2 - Reports and Analytics Developer to join our Data Integration and Reporting team on a full-time contract. You will design, build, and test static and dynamic BI reports using Power BI, SQL Server, and Visual Studio, collaborating with clients and teammates to ensure milestones are met.

This role requires US citizenship for a federal background check and may involve up to 5% travel; onsite one day per week with hybrid work

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience with Power BI Server/Desktop and SSRS.
• Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and SSDT for BI/report development.
• Strong SQL Server experience (2016/2022) and data access patterns.
• Scripting skills: VB/JavaScript and PowerShell for automation.
• Knowledge of report design and database design principles.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with technical team members and customers to translate requirements into functional BI reports.
• Perform project technical tasks for fixed and analytic reports, including design, development, and testing.
• Develop static and dynamic reports from a three-tier client-server application (web/server/SQL).
• Customize templates and check-in policies within Visual Studio tooling as needed.
• Create/modify reports and dashboards using Power BI Desktop.
• Troubleshoot report interoperability issues and data access using SQL backend.
• Develop customer-focused BI analytics solutions.
• Contribute to presentation layers aligned with customer requirements and best practices.
• Coordinate with team lead/project manager to keep milestones on track.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Information/Computer Technology or related technical discipline preferred

3 years IT experience with a Bachelor's degree

5 years IT experience without a degree or applicable degree
