As a Pharmacy Operations Associate, you will support the day-to-day work that helps prescriptions move accurately and efficiently through the pharmacy. You will collaborate with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, customer support colleagues, and other operations teams to assist with prescription processing, medication organization, order preparation, and member service. This role is well suited to someone who is detail-oriented, dependable, and motivated by work that makes a meaningful difference in people’s health routines.
You will follow established procedures, protect confidential information, and communicate clearly when a prescription, order, or member request requires additional attention. The position may involve working with pharmacy systems, reviewing information for completeness, and completing operational tasks in a fast-paced environment. Training will be provided on applicable processes and tools. Depending on business needs and applicable regulations, responsibilities may vary by location and may be subject to pharmacy licensing requirements.
Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and strong written and verbal communication skills. Previous experience in a pharmacy, healthcare, fulfillment, customer service, or other process-driven environment is helpful, but relevant training and a willingness to learn are also valued. Pharmacy technician registration or certification may be required for certain duties or locations; applicants should be prepared to meet applicable state and federal requirements.
Successful candidates demonstrate careful attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to follow written procedures consistently. They can manage competing priorities, use computer systems confidently, and ask questions when information is unclear. A respectful, patient approach to working with members and colleagues is essential. Candidates must be able to handle sensitive health information responsibly and comply with privacy, safety, and quality standards.
Support prescription and order workflows by entering, reviewing, organizing, or routing information according to established procedures and role permissions. Assist with preparing medication orders and related materials, while checking work for accuracy and escalating discrepancies to the appropriate licensed professional. Maintain organized work areas and follow processes for inventory, packaging, documentation, and quality control as assigned.
Respond to routine questions or requests with professionalism, and direct clinical or otherwise complex concerns to a pharmacist or authorized team member. Coordinate with internal teams to resolve workflow issues, document relevant actions, and help prevent delays. Protect member information, follow workplace safety practices, meet productivity and quality expectations, and participate in training and process improvement efforts.
Eligible employees may have access to a competitive benefits package that can include medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, retirement savings options, and employee assistance resources. Benefit eligibility, availability, and terms depend on employment status, work location, and the applicable plan documents. The role may also offer opportunities to build pharmacy operations experience, develop new skills, and contribute to a service that supports members’ medication routines.
