Job summary

Global IT Solutions, Inc - Texas invites a Power BI Developer to join our Tallahassee, FL team on-site. You will analyze data sources, design Power BI dashboards, and collaborate with management to define reporting roadmaps.

You have at least 5 years in BI, 2 years with Power BI, and experience with IBM DB2. You will automate transformations, optimize data models, and train staff while ensuring governance and reliability of reports.

• Analyze current data environment and structures for transformation needs.
• Collaborate with management to define a reporting roadmap.
• Review and improve existing reports based on business needs.
• Automate data transformation, reducing reliance on Excel pivot tables.
• Convert WebFOCUS/Mainframe FOCUS queries into T SQL.
• Partner with DBAs to create views and stored procedures for Power BI.
• Build Power BI dataflows.
• Analyze financial data and recommend improvements to financial data models.
• Administer Power BI dedicated workspace.
• Train staff on Power BI usage.

• Bachelor s Degree in Technology or Finance preferred.


• Equivalent work experience may substitute year for year for degree.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years in Business Intelligence.


• At least 2 years developing dashboards/reports in Microsoft Power BI.


• Hands on experience with IBM DB2 databases.

Primary Duties

• Analyze current data environment and structures for transformation needs.


• Collaborate with management to define a reporting roadmap.


• Review and improve existing reports based on business needs.


• Automate data transformation, reducing reliance on Excel pivot tables.


• Convert WebFOCUS/Mainframe FOCUS queries into T SQL.

Required KSAs

• Power BI dashboards & reports development.


• Paginated reports in Power BI.


• Strong SQL skills.


• Knowledge of data governance best practices.


• Familiarity with Data Warehousing, ODS, Data Lakes, MDM.


• Experience with financial reporting (GL, purchasing, revenue).


• Understanding of OLAP cubes, Star/Snowflake schema.


• Integration of Power BI with Power Automate, Power Apps, PowerPoint, Teams.


• Analytical thinking for converting data into reports/graphics.


• Multi source solution implementation.


• IBM DB2 database experience.


• Knowledge of Mainframe flat files.


• Familiarity with SCRUM framework.

Preferred KSAs

• Oracle Datawarehouse experience.


• Knowledge of mainframe programming languages/systems.


• ERP financial systems exposure.


• WebFOCUS experience.
