Job summary

Loram, a leading rail industry analytics employer in Minnesota, is offering an Enterprise Power BI Reporting Intern position. You will contribute to developing enterprise Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models while learning governance, administration, and best practices in BI engineering.

You’ll work with data engineers, analysts, and developers to build an enterprise Power BI application, gaining hands-on experience in semantic modeling and enterprise analytics.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Software or Application Development, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, MIS, or related field.
• Junior or Senior standing with expected graduation date within two years.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Power BI.
• Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Eagerness to learn enterprise reporting, analytics, and BI technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop Power BI reports, dashboards, and applications that support enterprise reporting needs.
• Assist in design, testing, deployment, and maintenance of Power BI reporting solutions.
• Support development and documentation of semantic models, datasets, and DAX measures.
• Assist in governance practices, including report certification, semantic model standards, security, and lifecycle management.
• Support Power BI administration activities, including workspace management and dataset refreshes.
• Validate report accuracy through testing and data reconciliation.
• Collaborate with business users to gather requirements and test solutions.
• Create documentation for reporting standards and governance.
