Job summary

Detego Health seeks a Power BI Analyst to design, build, and sustain dashboards and semantic models across claims, eligibility, customer service, finance, and operations. You will work with the Data team and serve as the primary backup to the Lead Power BI Analyst, ensuring continuity of reporting when needed.

The role requires strong Power BI development, data modeling, DAX, and healthcare data familiarity, plus the ability to independently investigate data discrepancies and translate findings

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in business intelligence, reporting, or data analysis.
• 2+ years of hands-on Power BI development experience (DAX, Power Query, data modeling).
• Working knowledge of healthcare data (claims, eligibility, benefits, or healthcare financial data).
• Demonstrated ability to research and resolve technical problems with minimal supervision.

• Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and scorecards under the direction of the Lead Power BI Analyst.
• Develop and modify DAX measures, Power Query transformations, and semantic model elements.
• Monitor scheduled refreshes, gateways, and report performance; troubleshoot and resolve data or refresh failures.
• Serve as the primary backup to the Lead Power BI Analyst, maintaining continuity of reporting operations, dashboard availability, and stakeholder support when the Lead is unavailable.

Position SummaryThe Power BI Analyst supports Detego Health's enterprise business intelligence function, working closely with the Data team to design, build, and maintain dashboards, semantic models, and reporting solutions across claims, eligibility, customer service, financial, network, and care management data. This role serves as the primary backup to the Lead Power BI Analyst, providing continuity of reporting operations, dashboard support, and analytics delivery in the Lead's absence.Success in this role requires solid Power BI development skills, a working knowledge of healthcare and TPA data and operations (claims, eligibility, benefits administration), and, above all, resourcefulness — the drive to independently research answers, troubleshoot unfamiliar problems, and work through complex or ambiguous data issues until they are resolved.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPower BI Development & Support• Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and scorecards under the direction of the Lead Power BI Analyst.• Develop and modify DAX measures, Power Query transformations, and semantic model elements.• Monitor scheduled refreshes, gateways, and report performance; troubleshoot and resolve data or refresh failures.• Serve as the primary backup to the Lead Power BI Analyst, maintaining continuity of reporting operations, dashboard availability, and stakeholder support when the Lead is unavailable.Data Management & Analytics• Analyze claims, eligibility, customer service, financial, utilization, and operational data to support business questions.• Validate data accuracy and investigate discrepancies across source systems and reports.• Support the development of KPI scorecards and recurring reporting packages.• Assist in identifying opportunities to automate manual or repetitive reporting processes.Problem Solving & Research• Independently research and work through unfamiliar technical or data issues rather than waiting for direction, using available documentation, community resources, and testing to find answers.• Break down large, ambiguous, or multi-layered problems into manageable pieces and see them through to resolution.• Escalate appropriately, but only after taking a genuine first pass at diagnosing the issue.• Document solutions and workarounds to build institutional knowledge and reduce repeat troubleshooting.Collaboration & Communication• Partner with the broader data team, Information Systems, and business stakeholders (claims, customer service, finance, operations) to gather requirements and deliver reporting solutions.• Communicate technical findings and data insights clearly to non-technical audiences.• Participate in user training and support adoption of self-service reporting tools.Employee Acknowledgment and DisclaimerI acknowledge that I have received, reviewed, and understand this Job Description.
