Job Description:
As a Power BI Analyst, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data models, dashboards, and analytical reporting solutions that transform complex datasets into meaningful business insights. This role supports enterprise modernization and data-driven decision‑making initiatives by delivering actionable analytics, performance metrics, and reporting capabilities for business and technical stakeholders.
Working closely with development teams, business analysts, quality assurance professionals, trainers, and production support teams, you will leverage Power BI and Microsoft Power Platform technologies to create enterprise-grade reporting solutions that enable efficient monitoring, analysis, and operational decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, scorecards, and data visualizations.
- Transform raw data into meaningful business insights through effective data modeling and analytics.
- Clean, transform, and prepare data using Power Query, SQL, and ETL processes.
- Develop and maintain relational data models, star schemas, fact tables, and dimension tables.
- Create advanced DAX measures, calculated columns, KPIs, and business metrics.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Develop enterprise reporting solutions utilizing Power BI and other Microsoft Power Platform technologies.
- Support data integration and reporting initiatives across multiple business functions and operational areas.
- Design accessible, responsive, and user-friendly reports and dashboards for executive and operational users.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for reporting solutions, data sources, and business logic.
- Analyze performance metrics and provide insights that support strategic and operational decision‑making.
- Participate in requirements discussions, report validation, testing, and deployment activities.
- Support knowledge transfer and end‑user adoption through demonstrations and reporting walkthroughs.
Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or a related discipline.
- 2+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analysis, reporting, or analytics roles.
- Strong proficiency in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
- Advanced experience developing reports, dashboards, scorecards, and data visualizations using Power BI.
- Strong expertise in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for developing calculated columns, measures, KPIs, and advanced reporting metrics.
- Hands‑on experience using Power Query and ETL processes for data extraction, transformation, and cleansing.
- Strong SQL skills with the ability to query, analyze, and manipulate data from relational databases.
- Experience designing relational data models, star schemas, fact tables, and dimension tables.
- Experience translating business requirements into reporting and analytics solutions.
- Strong understanding of business metrics, KPI development, and performance reporting.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform technologies including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Power Pages.
- Experience designing and supporting Power Pages websites, including security, permissions, authentication, forms, and user interfaces.
- Familiarity with Azure Active Directory authentication and access control concepts.
- Experience using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to support reporting and portal solutions.
- Strong data analysis, analytical thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience communicating technical findings and recommendations to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Excel and additional analytical tools such as Python or R for data analysis and manipulation is preferred.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross‑functional project teams.
The hourly range for roles of this nature are $40.00 to $80.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
