Job summary

Oerlikon is seeking a Process Engineer for its Troy, MI facility. You will serve as the technical resource for Production personnel, focusing on sustaining and improving yield and quality while leading continuous improvement projects.

You will manage technical projects, propose equipment upgrades, and maintain SAP master data. The role also involves transferring new products from R&D to Production and creating training materials and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
• 7+ years of manufacturing experience in a bulk material production environment.
• Experience with lean and six sigma methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical resource for Production personnel.
• Sustain/improve product yield and quality.
• Manage technical projects, under guidance from senior engineers or engineering manager.
• Identify and execute continuous improvement projects (yield, cost savings, cycle time, variability).
• Propose upgrades and/or purchase of new equipment.
• Maintain SAP master data (bills of materials, recipes).
• Transfer new products from R&D to Production (scale up).
• Create/update training on work instructions, batch records, and other documentation.
