Job summary

Glanbia Nutritionals, Inc. in Richfield Plant is seeking a packaging technician responsible for packaging powder and performing regular quality assurance checks on powder. This role supports the production department and requires strict adherence to safety and food quality standards.

Responsibilities include setting up packaging modules, adjusting fill rates, sealing quality, and assisting with restacking when needed. Weekend and overtime availability are expected.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to read and comprehend text and numbers, do simple math, and use measuring instruments.
• Forklift experience preferred or must be trainable.
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of USDA, FDA, SQF and customer requirements for a food manufacturing plant.
• Knowledge of Sustainability and EPA requirements for a manufacturing plant.
• Ability to operate (or learn to operate) necessary equipment.
• Excellent record in safety, attendance, and punctuality.
• Ability to stand and walk the entire shift.
• Ability to communicate verbally and read and write instructions in English.
• Must be able to work weekends, and overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Packages powder, seals bags, and stacks on pallets.
• Troubleshoot with live operation of equipment and perform bag/seal checks.
• Set up packaging modules and adjust fill rates and sealer heights in real time.
• Configure bag heads and conveyors for cleaning and inspection.
• Assist in restacking and re-bagging powder as necessary.
• Safely perform cleaning and sanitation tasks with chemicals per SOPs.
• Promotes and exhibits strong Food Safety, Quality, Sustainability and Housekeeping practices.
• Report safety and quality issues to supervisor immediately.
• Participate in teams/projects to improve area metrics.
• Adhere to safety health standards and OSHA rules.
