Job summary

The Sherwin-Williams Company is seeking a Laboratory Technician to weigh, measure and process powder coating samples and to operate lab equipment for testing in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. You'll follow ASTM/ISO methods, maintain detailed lab records, and write concise reports on procedures and results.

The role covers TGIC, HAA, urethanes, and related chemistries, with teamwork across manufacturing and engineering as priorities.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• 6+ months of lab experience in industry.
• Ability to tint paints to customer color requests.
• Math and chemistry knowledge; computer literacy.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Accurately weigh, measure and process powder coating samples for testing.
• Operate laboratory equipment related to powder coatings production.
• Follow ASTM and ISO testing methodologies.
• Maintain accurate documentation of lab work, formulations, and testing.
• Write simple reports outlining procedures and results.
• Work on coatings technologies including TGIC, HAA, urethanes and hybrids.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and Commercial Engineering.
• Comply with safety and security regulations; keep work area clean.
